This article examines a variety of factors that determine how well children cope with the breakup of their parents' marriage.  These factors include the quality of the relationship with the non-custodial parent, the coping and parenting ability of the custodial parent, the level of conflict surrounding the divorce, the amount of economic hardship experienced, and the number of major stressors that occur after the divorce.
