This paper examines the effect divorce and common-law dissolution has on Canadian children. The author suggests that rising divorce rates in Canada are the result of relaxed divorce law, changing values and a societal ideology of divorce. The author argues that divorce influences child wellbeing, economic stability and negatively influences adult children of divorce.
