This paper addresses youth crime and related topics such as the family, the economic and educational characteristics of young offenders, as well as rates of adolescent suicide, homicide, and weapon use. It also examines school-related offenses, child abuse and maltreatment, the structure and proceedings of the juvenile justice system, the nature of violent crimes committed by young offenders, and trends in juvenile delinquency.
