This report provides an overview of strategies that have been successful in reducing substance abuse in the American population.  Drug abuse prevention strategies include reaching adolescents both in and out of school, providing effective treatment for abusers, and implementing effective law enforcement policies and practices that reduce drug availability and provide alternatives to incarceration.
