This paper discusses the sexual abuse of children and the relationship between statutory rape and teenage pregnancy. It also looks at the human and social costs of statutory rape, including increased rates of teenage pregnancy, fatherlessness, and welfare dependency. Furthermore, it examines laws and proposed legislation dealing with statutory rape in Massachusetts.
