This paper studies the impact of parental criminality and incarceration on children and families. It looks at the hardships faced by these children as well as the challenges of parental reunification and reintegration. It also focuses on the roles of communities, social service and health care providers, and the criminal justice system in meeting the unique needs of families affected by crime and imprisonment.
