This report examines the welfare of children whose mothers are arrested, and finds that many children are left in dangerous or unsafe environments. It suggests that police officers often do little or nothing to ensure the safety of children when they are arresting a mother. The authors call for policies and procedures that offer greater protection for these vulnerable children.
