This report provides information about the rates of child victimization among offenders in state prisons, looks at different forms of victimization, and discusses the characteristics of child victims and offenders.  Among other things, it finds that 1 in 5 offenders in prison has victimized a child, and that 8 in 10 child victimizers have committed a sexual crime against a child.  It also demonstrates that many child victimizers have histories of sexual abuse.
