Using information from police-reported crime data through the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey, this paper reports that the crime rate has continued to drop and is at the lowest level in 25 years. The paper also concludes that youth crime has risen for the first time since 2003.The paper examines crimes by category including homicide, violent crime, break-ins, and motor vehicle theft among others.
