This annual report provides current data and historical trends on the nature and extent of family violence incidents in Canada. This year's focus is the incidence of spousal violence reported by both women and men to Statistics Canada’s 1999 General Social Survey on Victimization. The report also provides the most recent police-reported data on spousal violence, abuse of older adults, child abuse and family homicides.
