This report reviews the research that has been done on the effectiveness of child welfare interventions that target children, parents and families. The authors discuss the weaknesses of existing evaluations, and suggest that it is difficult to reach sound conclusions since few researchers have studied the long-term effectiveness of interventions. Recommendations for future research are included.
