This article reviews existing research pertaining to strategies for treating children who are victims of sexual abuse.  It suggests that although many treatment strategies claim to bring improvements, few are able to demonstrate that improvements are the result of anything other than the passage of time.  The authors discuss some of the challenges of treating sexually abused children and suggest that more research is necessary to determine whether or not therapies actually are effective.
