This article provides evidence that prior childhood abuse, whether sexual or non-sexual, increases children's risk of experiencing later sexual abuse.  It also found that, among victims of child sexual abuse, prior victimization increased the risk of experiencing symptoms of post-traumatic stress.  The authors suggest that prior victimization needs to be addressed by those who design abuse prevention initiaives and by mental health professonials who counsel child victims.
