This paper discusses the incidence and causes of perinatal mortality in the Netherlands.  It highlights particular risk factors for infant mortality, including multiple births, older mothers, and presence of non-western immigrants.  The authors suggest that risks have increased in the Netherlands as the use of assisted reproduction has resulted in more multiple births, women are increasingly postponing childbearing, and many immigrants to the Netherlands are coming from countries with high levels of perinatal mortality.
