This report highlights global and regional trends in child welfare and mortality rates. It makes specific recommendations for Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, East Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and industrialized countries. It concludes that, in much of the world, desired standards of child welfare and survival are not being met.
