This paper examines trends in the relationship between infant mortality and socioeconomic status in metropolitan Ohio between the years 1960 and 2000.  It finds that, although rates of infant mortality declined dramatically at all class levels during this period, the relationship between low socio-economic status and infant mortality actually grew stronger.
