This paper studies the effect of maternal education and educational attainment on the health outcomes of infants, specifically in regards to birthweight. It also looks at factors affected by education or lack thereof, such as teenage pregnancy, unemployment or low income jobs, and smoking during pregnancy. The results of this study suggest that lower-than-average birthweights for infants are related to a lack of maternal education.
