This paper presents the results of a study which finds that having a child with poor health reduces the probability that a father will be employed and reduces the number of hours worked if employed.  The authors suggest that these findings contribute to a growing body of evidence that indicates that poor child health has a negative effect on family resources, leaving those children most in need of health services less likely to have access to them.
