This study uses data from the Canadian National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth to examine the influence of neighbourhood economic characteristics on the Body Mass Index of children. The authors conclude that poor neighbourhoods are associated with increased Body Mass Index percentiles. The authors suggest that neighbourhood influence increases as children age.
