This report gives an overview of the media environment in American family homes, including a discussion on children's television viewing and internet usage, how many hours they dedicate to media consumption, and the level of parental supervision in the home. It also examines the opinions of children and parents on the quality and possible effects of children's media usage, and addresses several relevant issues, such as the v-chip, TV rating systems, and educational programming.
