This study of Canadian single-parent families explores the structural and cultural causes of single-parenthood, the causes of unmarried teen births, the consequences for children living in single-parent households and the issue of children's rights.  The study calls for an increase in government support for one-parent families and for an increase in cultural values that will counter the media's misguided message to teens regarding sex.
