This report discusses the problem of inadequate health care insurance for low-income children in single parent families, analyses the existing system, and recommends integrating health care coverage with the child support system. It outlines a model for reform and makes suggestions for enforcement of health care provisions within a child support order. It also discusses the logistics of such a program and highlights areas where further research and work is necessary.
