This report examines the nature and extent of fatal and non-fatal student and teacher victimization in U.S. schools in 2002.  It also examines the nature of the school environment by analysing such factors as the prevalence of weapon carrying, rates of drug and alcohol use, the presence of gangs, and students' feelings of safety.
