This study looks at violence and property offence among 12- and 13-year-old boys.  It examines the ways in which risk factors, such as environmental risks, delinquent friends,  and being delinquent early in life can be offset by the protective factor of school attachment.  Because attachment to school can be a protective factor for delinquency, the authors suggest that schools should seek to include rather than exclude problem youth.
