This paper discusses the impact and likelihood of parental absence and failure to provide child support among teenage fathers.  It argues that it is important to establish paternity and enforce child support payment.  It also finds, however, that teen fathers experience substantially lower incomes throughout their lives than those who delayed fatherhood, thus making child support payment more difficult.
