This survey of 12-19 year olds in the United States revealed that while parents think teens' friends are the biggest influence over teen sexual behaviour, teens say that parents have the most sway over their sexual decisions.  The study found that 88% of teens thought it would be easier to postpone sexual activity if their parents were more open to talking about it with them.
