This paper studies the relationship between adolescent unemployment, educational achievement and crime. It finds a significant link between long-term male unemployment and property crime, as well as an association between high school non-completion and criminal activity. The authors conclude that this indicates how the labour and educational policies have a significant impact on adolescent crime rates.
